How to stop comparing yourself to others?

To stop comparing yourself to others, the first thing you need to do is focus on yourself. You are the main character in your own life, and your attention should be centered primarily on your own individual characteristics, goals, dreams, etc. You are wonderful just as you are because you are a human being. Your path to success is there in front of you and it is completely normal that you walk on it at your own pace dealing with your own individual setbacks and victories.

Then, you need to think about who exactly you are comparing yourself to. There are plenty of people who boast with luxurious possessions, or exotic trips, or an extravagant lifestyle. But do we have any reason to believe that they are actually good people? That they feel comfortable with themselves on the inside? That they feel loved and accepted? The tendency to boast with material possessions is rather a sign that something else is missing.

Of course, there are also people who are truly happy and successful in their field. But their success should not make you feel inferior or lagging behind. It’s exactly the opposite – such people prove that a great life is possible when one works hard and believes in oneself. They should serve as nothing else but inspiration for the rest.

Last but not least, it is illogical to compare yourself to others because every person is on a different journey and one life cannot be compared to another.
