You are a beautiful child

You are a beautiful child. With your inner and outer world. With your quirks and normalities. With your raging emotions, your disordered thoughts, all your illogical actions. You are a beautiful child. Just the way you are, without changing anything.

You are a good child. The world rejects you because it is cruel to newcomers. Adults reject you because they don’t know how to accept you. Other children reject you because they do not accept themselves either. But there is nothing wrong with you. Nothing is broken. You are human nature in its purest form. Your thoughts are right. Your feelings are right. Your breathing is right.

And you are a human child. With your tantrums, tears, giggles, and rage. With the desire to fit in and the desire to be different. With broken dreams, vengeful hands, and a tender heart. With aggression and pain, with resignation and sadness. With joy and thirst for life. With a need for truth. And you are beautiful.

You are a good child. But not in your obedience, but in your inability to be anything other than yourself. You are a pure child whose essence is pushing to come out, to dive into reality as seen through innocent eyes. You are a good child, even when you are bad, because that is the nature of children, and adults are the ones who have the responsibility to understand that.

You are a free child. You need to make your own choices, and there is no way you can go wrong. You need to run across the meadow without looking back, without getting tired, without thinking about the consequences, without anticipating the next step. You need to be a noisy, disobedient, fantastic cosmic freak who laughs ecstatically at the sun. And your needs are right.

You are a wayward child. Now that you are born, you cannot just accept what you are told. You need to think about the world, take it apart into its constituent parts, and build new figures with its pieces. You need new ideas, your own ideas, which no one else can give you. You need your wrong conclusions to see that they are not as scary as others say. You need your victories and your losses. You are a child who shapes yourself because that is your birthright.

You are a loving child. You fall in love with colors, with water, with the sound of life itself, and you deserve for no one to stand in the way of that love. Because you love truly, without precautions, without defenses, irrevocably and absolutely, your child’s heart loves itself, others, and your world. And this ability makes you perfect.

You are a special child. Even when you just smile. There is value in your eyes and you are not like the others. You are a special child and you deserve treatment reserved only for you. You deserve the first breath of air to be yours alone. To have a moonbeam just for your hair. To have someone love just you. You are a beautiful child. And I love you. Just as you are, down to your smallest flaw. You deserve love. You deserve freedom. You are safe. I am here and I support you. You belong. You have value. Your heart is important to the world. I see you. I hear you. I understand you. And you, my beautiful inner child, are wonderful.
