Why Is Self-Esteem Important in Love?

Your self-esteem is one of the most important factors in your relationships because people tend to receive what they believe they deserve. If your self-esteem is low, your subconscious belief will be that you do not deserve happiness or a wonderful partner. As a result, you naturally attract people who will either make you unhappy or take advantage of your insecurity for their own benefit.

By the same principle, when your self-esteem is strong, you know that you deserve to meet high-quality people, and they will naturally enter your life.

There are two kinds of romantic relationships: those born from need and those born from desire.

A person with low self-esteem is ruled by their needs. They enter relationships in order to be liked, to escape loneliness, or to feel useful. This traps them in relationships that make them unhappy because they are there out of weakness rather than genuine desire.

A person with healthy self-esteem is emotionally self-sufficient. They enter relationships not because they are looking to be rescued from themselves, but because they know who they are and can freely choose a worthy partner. When you know that you deserve respect and your heart is not afraid to open itself, the right people will naturally come into your life, and your relationships will become fulfilling and joyful.

Self-esteem is essential in love because in order to truly love another person, you must first be able to love yourself.
