Equality does not mean sameness
People are equal, that’s clear. But the contemporary meaning of we are all equal has got twisted to we are all the same. Equality doesn’t mean sameness.
Every time someone points the advantage of one person over others, society gives a whining howl: But how comes, weren’t we all equal? Equality must be total in every single aspect, regardless of the individual qualities of the people.
Of course, material wealth comes first. The redistribution of wealth is indispensable. We should all earn the same, regardless of whether we produce. The productive genius and the lazy talentless person should be paid the same. Possessing one cent more than the rest is unacceptable.
But that’s not all. No one should be smarter than the rest. If nature was stupid enough to create people with different IQ, we must fix this problem. We will repeat that everybody is smart, but we will not say how much exactly and we will not compare. This is true justice.
Being abler than the rest is also not permitted. The fact that you work hard, overcome challenges, and follow your dreams does not make you more deserving than the rest. Some will achieve what they want with effort, the other will receive it as a charity. So that there is equality.
Being better at anything is a crime. You are a monster which destroys human rights and crushes the self-esteem of his fellow men.
How dares Usain Bolt consider himself faster than everybody else? The fact that he simply is cannot be accepted. Why is Mendeleev praised for creating the Periodic Table? Anyone else could do it because everyone is equal to him. His achievement should not be appreciated at all.
I propose that from now on every award in sports, science, and art is granted to the whole humanity.
Let’s now see what’s the truth: Equality stands in the opportunity, not in the result.
The world offers an inexhaustible amount of resources, both material and spiritual. They are there so that everyone can win them. Everyone has different advantages and disadvantages.
In the spiritual aspect, no one is privileged. We all have souls and our task is to discover as much of them as possible. Whether you are going to be yourself, improve yourself, and fight, depends only on you.
In the material and the intellectual aspects, there are privileged people. But of course, this is so. Otherwise, we would all be born the same. It is important to state that everyone is privileged at something. Everyone.
Of course, for the child born in a rich family, it would be easier to accumulate more wealth as an adult. But it has to be so. Because in this dimension the Universe has decided to give this person exactly these advantages. It will give him enough challenges as well, do not worry about it.
The child born in a poor family will have other privileges. It will have access to the psychology of a greater number of people. It is likely to suffer more and to become stronger earlier. It will be closer to nature. It will have the motivation to exceed all expectations.
Furthermore, it may be harder for the rich kid to learn to plant potatoes or to hammer nails. For some reason, exactly you who always say that there is no shameful work, think that raising pigs is less dignified than banking.
One is more clever than another, who is more resourceful than the third, who is more beautiful than the fourth, who is more athletic than the fifth, who is more musical than the first. This is what equality means. Some of them will put effort into their talent and will develop it. Others will remain mediocre. But that depends only on them.
Mozart does not need to paint like Van Gogh and Van Gogh does not need to compose like Mozart. Each one of them is a genius in his own thing and can allow himself to be a complete loser in other areas. This wouldn’t harm him, rather it would build his personality.
It is utterly important that there is someone who is the best. It is the only thing that gives us motivation for success and measurement of progress. The categories are endless. And equality has nothing to do with them.
People are equal because they all have the chance to achieve themselves. People are equal because their opportunities for self-development are endless. People are equal because each and every single one of them possesses something unique on which the whole Universe depends.
From there on, everything is competition. Let the ablest one win.
