Calmness – the value of the boring

Calmness is increasingly becoming a priority for people above all else, which is worrying in itself. But the fact that it is also a priority for young people is frightening.

Calmness is boring

What is peaceful is frozen and does not change. It simply exists without much interaction with the rest of the world. A calm that lasts forever, and the storm of passion and excitement never comes.

Calmness is unimportant

Life is for living. For passion, for adventure, for challenges. What significance could calmness have against the backdrop of all this? Those who love cannot be calm. They create and destroy worlds in their hearts.

Calmness is easy

If it is so important for us to be calm, then it is quite easy to achieve. All we have to do is miss out on all the interesting things in life. A cup of tea, an armchair, and a spoonful of mediocrity. That is the perfect recipe for calmness.

Calmness is an inner state

Calmness can only be a value when it comes to striving to be a stable person. To remain true to yourself in stressful situations. To be part of the harmony of the universe. But not the harmony of the safe and secure, but the harmony of strong, dangerous elements that are respected.

Calmness is a pleasant minimum, but it cannot be a goal. At least not in this life.
