Do people come into your life for a reason?

Yes. Every person enters your life for a reason. That reason is always to teach you something about yourself that helps you become a better person.

Some people bring positive emotions into your life. Through them, you learn how to be happy. You build confidence and realize that you matter. You find the courage to love and allow yourself to be loved.

Others bring pain and negative emotions. Through them, you learn how to suffer. You face your pain and become stronger. You learn how to forgive. You create.

Sometimes the same person brings both happiness and pain into your life. Then you learn to decide which one matters more.

People enter our lives in two fundamental ways: through our own choices or without our choice at all.

Our family and social environment are beyond our control. They are the people we are given, and they are there for a reason as well. Everyone has the parents they need in order to become the person they are meant to be. Whether they provide love and care or force us to confront our deepest fears, parents are always an essential part of our journey. Our social environment shapes both our opportunities and our challenges. In order to become a complete individual, we must overcome some form of conformity, and life provides the conditions necessary for that growth.

Friends and romantic partners are the people we consciously choose. Their presence carries perhaps the most important lessons of all. They are the relationships through which we are called to be our bravest. Because whenever we choose to love someone, there is always one purpose—to walk together beyond every internal and external barrier until we meet our true selves.
