The Ten Social Commandments

Nowadays the Ten Commandments are laughable. They harm freedom only a little bit and are not worthy for the contemporary era of total slavery. For this reason, I think it is time to summarize the new Commandments.

I. Do not strive for perfection

Everything is trash. Perfection does not exist. The best you can want is better smelling trash.

Nothing is valuable or sacred. Everything is common and mediocre. Just like you.

If you somehow happen to achieve perfection, feel guilty about it. You are a monster and you will be punished by exile.

II.Destroy love

Never love truly. It is the greatest sin.

Call love every desire for attention; every need for the physical presence of another human being, caused by weakness; every financial deal sealed with marriage; every sexual urge; every relationship you create because you are expected to do so.

Sneer and humiliate every true love that you see.

III. Obey

Obey for everything. When society tells you to be spineless, brainless and soulless, listen to it. When it tells you to kneel and to bury your face in the grayish green mud of nonexistence, do it.

Obey the circumstances. When things just are THE WAY THEY ARE, do not try to change them. Let the cloud on the sky prevent you from going out today, just as the law will prevent you from searching for freedom.

Crawl in front of those who crawl in front of you in an endless circle.

IV. Do not differ from the rest

Let your opinion be the Social opinion. Repeat what the others have told you. Believe it. Doubt will be punished.

Be exactly like the others. Dress like them, speak like them, do the same things as them – this is the easy part. But it is important that your eyes are just as empty as theirs.

Let your I be We.

V. Give up your dreams

Be careful. You are not expected to not dream at all. You have to give up and stop chasing your dreams. Say out loud that you will not achieve them.

Replace them with much lower ones. And then be proud of yourself because you gained wisdom.

And then spend your whole life persuading others not to fly high.

VI. Do not allow yourself to care

Everything is insignificant. Love, Freedom, Pride and Life are not meaningful.

Do not get attached. You should not care about anything because you will get hurt. And even more, because it is transitory and tomorrow it will not be the same.

Since you do not care, you do not need to strive for change. Why would you get angry over unimportant matters such as spiritual death and slavery of the mind? Live calmly and happily, be nonchalant.

VII. Fear

Fear constantly. Fear those who set bombs in the cities. And those who attack people with knives on the streets. Fear the decisions of the politicians from your own country and from every other country in the world.

But fear yourself the most. Fear looking back and seeing how pointless your existence has been. And fear thinking what it could have been.

Fear about your loved ones and be determined not to let them live their lives the way they want because of your own fear.

VIII. Work, have children… but nothing more

Fill your whole life with work. The only requirement is that you do not care about it. You need to be aware that for 40 years, 8 hours per day, you are doing something which does not contribute to the progress of the world, nor to your own progress.

Have children. So that you can devote your life to someone else and not to yourself. And when you accomplish that, keep having children because this is your supreme moral duty to Society.

Do not wish for anything else. Is that not enough? You are given every type of slavery you could think of. Why would you desire freedom?

IX. Be successful, smart, and trendy

Be successful in the contemporary meaning of the word. Let your highest goal be money, and your most sincere longing – social recognition.

Be intellectual. Praise the accessible conventional truths and all other superficial things.

Be up to date. Embrace the modern trends in art, culture and fashion. Transform yourself into a grotesque of Post-modernism and proudly take your place in the museum of the talentless.

X. Be good, kind, and tolerant

Be kind to everyone. Mistakes and flaws do not exist. Everything is just “OK”.

Be kind to yourself. Do not require anything from yourself. Being a mediocre mollusk is completely understandable and even worthy of admiration.

Be tolerant of everyone and admit that there is no difference between them. We are all human, which means that we are all equally weak and spineless. Respect those who destroy and smash everything that is still breathing.
